Psychotherapy Services for Adults
PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR PREGNANT WOMEN
Dr. Diaz offers individual psychotherapy to women grappling with the emotional challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, and caring for a newborn. She treats women transitioning to motherhood who suffer from depression and anxiety disorders.
Dr. Diaz also works with pregnant women who have experienced recent traumatic events or who are dealing with the effects of unresolved childhood trauma, which may resurface during this significant transitional time. If appropriate, Dr. Diaz includes partners in the treatment to support the expectant mother and address issues impacting the couple relationship.
Dr. Diaz emphasizes collaborative, multidisciplinary care to help pregnant women cope and navigate this period successfully.
PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS
Dr. Diaz provides a safe therapeutic space for parents and caregivers who struggle with mental health issues and/or face the challenges and demands of caring for young children who suffer from trauma or physical or mental disabilities.
Dr. Diaz also offers individual psychotherapy to parents and caregivers who are dealing with the aftermath of recent traumatic events, and to those looking to resolve trauma in their own upbringing. When appropriate, Dr. Diaz collaborates with service providers working with the family, to better support parents and their children.
"Changes in life are often difficult, but at times necessary. Once you have decided on something, follow through fearlessly, no matter how hard it may seem. If your heart is in it, trust that the desired outcome will be there waiting for you." — Dr. Diaz
